I enjoy doing all types of art: florals, still life, landscape, but especially portraits and figurative.  I am so fascinated by how people look and what they do.  We all have the same parts but we are all so, so different.  The differences between the old and the young, the good and the ornery, and just everyday individuals can be so intriguing.  I am inspired by their beauty, both outer and inner, and work very hard to capture it.  I love to recreate subjects whether it be people, animals, a still life or landscape, in a situation or moment that begs to be remembered and held still so that it can be enjoyed over and over again.

I want viewers to look at my work and truly enjoy it!  I want them to smile if it is beautiful or charming and to scrutinize it carefully if it seems to be telling a story.  I want that exchange between an individual and my painting.  My hope is that a question is created in the viewer's mind as to what is happening, what might have happened or what is going to happen.  The answer will be different for everyone depending on their life experiences.
